Student Support Spotlight, by Alissa Plaisance – November 28

Growing up, I was fortunate to live close to a fabulous Children’s Art Museum which encouraged lots of hands-on creation activities and classes. Visiting this artsy wonderland was kinesthetic heaven for me. Yesterday I was in our STEAM lab looking at the colorful bins of random supplies and it triggered memories of my time at the museum. I love to watch the children tinkering and creating in there! It made me think about the benefits of children creating things versus consuming. Here is an article that lists some ideas and reasons why loose parts are the best parts to spark creativity and curiosity in children!
