8th Grade Capstone Mission Trip
TCS 8th grade students and chaperones are in the Dominican Republic on their mission trip this week, the capstone experience in their TCS journey. In addition to meeting children and families in the village of Cielo, they have split into groups to work on houses for families in need. They have been mixing and pouring concrete, sanding, priming, and painting walls, and more. TCS dad, Ben Staat, writes, “Today we poured concrete headers on Wendy’s house. She and her family live in a shack with no bathroom. This new house is a really big deal for her family. She and her husband have two young girls and it felt really good to help them.” This trip has been an amazing opportunity for our students to experience another country and serve others from a completely different walk of life. It is sure to be a rewarding, memorable week, and we are excited to hear their stories when they get back! Enjoy photos on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
