Get to Know – Christina Bowman

The Christ School is excited to welcome Christina Bowman to our third grade team this year.  “As a child, I had the most amazing experience attending a K-8 Christian school and have always desired to have the opportunity to be a part of providing a positive experience like that for children,” says Christina. “One of my favorite verses, because of the assurance it gives, is  Isaiah 60:22 – When the time is right, I the Lord, will make it happen. I felt that God led me to The Christ School and made it clear that this was part of His plan for my life. While I have only just joined The Christ School family this year, it already feels like home. I am so grateful for the Lord’s guidance that led to my place here.”

Christina has been a teacher for nearly 12 years. “Growing up, I had many wonderful teachers that had such a positive and meaningful impact on my life,” she says. “My favorite teacher was Miss Gross, who taught 4th grade. She played a huge role in inspiring me to become a teacher. Over the years, she has been a teacher and role model turned mentor and life long friend to me. To this day she is an incredible influence in my life and someone I deeply admire. She continues to inspire, support, and encourage me. As a teacher myself now, I strive to develop that same positive and meaningful relationship with my students.”

Christina continues, “It is always my desire for our classroom to be a place where my students feel loved and safe to be able to learn, make mistakes, be themselves, and grow. One of my favorite things about teaching is seeing the students’ different personalities and how they each have such an important role in our classroom family. I love learning about their interests and the special and unique qualities, characteristics, and talents that God created in each of them. They all bring joy to our classroom in their own way each and every day!”

“I love The Christ School and its mission so much already!” Christina shares. “It is an incredibly special place and I truly feel so blessed and grateful to be a part of it. The uplifting community, the Christ-like attitudes, the positive atmosphere, and the LOVE for every child. While it is hard to describe the “difference” and what makes The Christ School so wonderful, what it all comes down to is the center of it, God. He is in this school, in its leaders, in its people. He is in this place and it is evident as you walk through it’s halls and He shines through the smiles and the hearts of the people that are a part of it.”

When not at work, Christina enjoys spending time with her family, her 2 year old niece, and 5 year old nephew. “They bring so much joy to my heart,” she says. “I also love spending time in the sunshine, especially at the beach and the mountains; some of my favorite places to be. I enjoy travelling, especially to Nashville, my favorite city. I love crafting, creating, decorating, and shopping.”

Christina shares her favorite Bible verses:

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.Psalm 139:14
“This is always one I hold near and dear to my heart- to know the love God has for each and every one of us is so special and so important,” says Christina. “I want my students to always know this truth. I desire to make them feel as loved and cherished as they are, that they see the value and worth they have in Jesus, as he created us in His image!”

Perhaps this is the moment for which you were created. –  Esther 4:14
“I love this verse and the excitement it brings for any moment in our life!” Christina says.
