Get to Know – Nashown Williams
The Christ School has been delighted to welcome Nashown Williams to The Christ School team as 7th and 8th grade math teacher. “I am a husband, brother, uncle, and soon to be a father!” says Nashown. “My wife, Denise, and I have been together for twelve years; since high school, and have been married for two years. I love designing fish tanks with aquatic plants and I am a pretty good cook.”
“Education has had a tremendous impact on my life,” says Nashown. “My parents instilled education into five core principles when I was very young and I believe it is my duty to educate others. I have been inspired by the dedication of teachers to lead, listen to, and teach young people. I had wanted to be a teacher as I entered college, and earned my Master of Science in Curriculum & Instruction.”
“I am enjoying teaching the students here at TCS,” he continues. “The best part of teaching math to middle school students is watching the undeniable growth and progress they make. Day to day progress is difficult to put on a scale, but the data over time is quite impressive. I also love their growing personalities and work ethic.”
“At TCS, I am supported by my colleagues and students,” says Nashown. “I have been welcomed and feel more confident that I can make an impact on the students’ growth.”
Nashown shares his favorite Bible verse:
In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. – 2 Timothy 4:1-3
