Inspiring Students

Did you know that TJ Ross, TCS 7th and 8th grade Math and Robotics teacher, is a veteran? While earning his bachelor’s degree in Middle-Childhood Education from Kent State University, he served in the Army National Guard and continued to serve while starting his career, teaching middle school math in Washington D.C. “I sincerely enjoyed and appreciated all I was able to do and learn throughout my time in the Army,” he says. “Their Core Values – Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage – are still to this day ingrained in me”

TJ moved to Orlando in 2013 and has been teaching at TCS for 4 years. On weekends, you will find him spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, and two-year-old daughter, Riley.

“My favorite thing about teaching at TCS is bridging the preconceived gap between math and a Christian worldview,” says TJ. “Our God is one of order. Math helps us to better understand the divine order God orchestrates through all things.”

Currently, TJ is pursuing a Master of Arts in Leadership at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. “The Educational Leadership program is tailored for those interested in independent school administration,” he says. “After graduation, I aspire to become a middle school principal and then one day lead as a Head of School.”

TJ shares his favorite Bible verse:
May the words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. – Psalm 19:14
