Learning About Homelessness
On March 30, Spencer Pfleiderer, Director of Compassion Corner, spoke to the second grade students about homelessness. He told them how people who are homeless often have no one to turn to for help. Mr. Pfleiderer explained that human beings have choices and used his life experience to show how easily one could become addicted to alcohol and drugs, and even become homeless due to their choices. “But,” he said, “The knowledge of Jesus and his love can help the lives of homeless people to change so they are no longer homeless.” He advised them to only approach homeless people with an adult. He thanked the children for their donations to the ministry and for the Hot Cross Buns that they made for them for Maundy Thursday.
