New Experiences Every Day!

When you step into Alexandra Savage’s kindergarten classroom, you quickly notice the bright colors and fun characters of Dr. Seuss adorning every part of the room. “I have always loved Dr. Seuss,” says Alexandra. “When I was in high school, I worked for Universal Studios and came to love Dr. Seuss even more. I believe Dr. Seuss’ stories and books give children a fun and engaging way to develop a love of reading. The stories take you into the colorful and fun world of Dr. Seuss.”

Alexandra came to The Christ School in 2013 and has enjoyed getting to know her students and strengthening their love of learning.  “I have been a teacher for 7 years.” she says. “I come from a long line of teachers, so you can say it is in my blood. I originally was a Music Education major and I switched to a Psychology Major with a music minor. Then I realized that what I really wanted to do was teach, so I went back to school for my education degree.” When not at TCS, Alexandra enjoys crafting, going to crossfit and spending time with friends and family.

“My favorite things about teaching kindergarten are the many fun activities we do in the classroom. Almost everything we do is a new experience for my students. Kindergarten students are at such a fun age and they learn so quickly. I love doing activities that cover a variety of subjects. For example, recently, we took a whole day and made it “Grinch Day! The day was filled with activities that encompassed reading, math, science, and art through fun activities based on one book.”

“I feel so blessed to be part of The Christ School family,” says Alexandra. “I love that TCS really is one big family! As a teacher here, I am able to impact a child’s life while becoming close with their family. These families become friends and extended family.”

Alexandra shares her favorite Bible verse: Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. – Proverbs 16:3
