Spotlight on TCS head volleyball coach Lindsey Carter

How do you feel about coaching at TCS?  While it is a change of pace from high school varsity, it’s very refreshing to work with players that are in the beginning phase of their career.  I know what they are about to walk in to in high school so I feel honored to prepare them for that next big step.

What is your favorite thing about being here?  The student athletes are the best part of The Christ School. My team has great morals, hard working attitudes and eagerness to learn.  I love it!

Do you have any goals or ideas that you are hoping to achieve this year?  My main goal is to prepare these young ladies for their future.  If we win a championship along the way, that is just icing on the cake.

Tell us about the 8th grade team and the night you spent taking them out to a Boone HS volleyball match?  It was a really special night for me to take my new team to watch my former team play.  I was beaming with pride to see the strides my former team has made.  I was sure to share with the 8th grade how some of those girls on the court couldn’t serve over hand last year and now they are jump serving.  And some couldn’t play all the way around and now they do AND thrive, on a high school team.  Hard work pays off and it was very apparent that night.

How did the former TCS volleyball players respond to seeing the 8th grade team?  They were all smiles, very appreciative and eager to tell me about their new roles. The parents were thankful for our season last year and referenced it many times as a big part of the puzzle in their daughters growth.
