Persuasive Writing

In the fall, the 5th grade students worked on developing strong persuasive letters and arguments. The teachers shared the letters with Dr. Farrant and one of them, written by Charlotte, was particularly impressive and caught his eye. Her letter was about dress code and Dr. Farrant invited Charlotte to meet and discuss this further. While there were some proposed changes that were not able to be implemented, Dr. Farrant did see merit in one of her suggestions. Today, the lower school enjoyed a special casual day thanks to Charlotte’s persuasive techniques.
