Second Graders Experience Sensational Science and Social Studies Lessons

To enhance classroom botany and history lessons, second graders visited Harry P. Leu Gardens. There, they discovered how plants adapt to arid regions and tropical stream regions. They learned about butterflies and how specific plants will attract various species. Within the garden is a home built in 1888. Many comparisons were made between life then and life now as the children toured this lovely dwelling. Memories of a fabulous, fun morning in the gardens will not fade.
