Voting Rights
Eighth grade Social Studies students attended a virtual theater to watch the play, “Vote?,” presented by the Orlando Rep. The play took students through the history of voting rights in our country from rights for African Americans, to women, to 18 year-olds. After the play, class discussion centered around the role protests played throughout history as a catalyst to change, why democracy works best when it represents the most voices, and how we continue as a country to learn and grow from past mistakes. Thank you to Mrs. Jenna Stallard for providing this opportunity for our 8th grade students.
