First Grade Family

The Christ School has a friendly new face in our first grade classrooms, Jasmine Simmons, our new first grade assistant. With her warm smile, calm demeanor, and positive outlook, Jasmine is a welcome addition to The Christ School family.

Originally from New Orleans, LA, Jasmine and her family moved to Orlando in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina. She attended Bishop Moore Catholic High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Florida A&M University in 2014. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at UCF.

“I am very close with my parents and have a little brother who is a junior at Bishop Moore,” says Jasmine. “My mom is a principal in the Orlando Catholic Diocese. She has instilled in me the importance of an education.” When not working, Jasmine enjoys shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

“The students in 1st grade are so loving and smart,” says Jasmine. “I enjoy helping them work through the challenges they come across at this age.”

“My favorite thing so far about TCS is the faith-filled and family atmosphere I encounter every day,” she continues. “Everyone is so welcoming and I am very happy to be a part of the team.”

Jasmine shares her favorite Bible verse:

Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

– Proverbs 22:6
