Exploring the Scientific Method

Fifth grade Science students have been learning about the scientific method. They have been working hard to correctly identify different types of variables as well as qualitative and quantitative data while conducting experiments. As an example, the students compared slope heights to determine the angle that would allow a marble to travel the farthest. Our 5th grade scientists reviewed how to properly measure distance as well as how to properly analyze data before writing a conclusion. What’s your guess? Would you use a slope made by putting a ramp on one book or two?
