Rube Goldberg Machines
TCS 8th-grade physical science students were asked to create a “Rube Goldberg” machine to complete a simple task through a complex series of steps of 6-8 steps. Each step had to involve a transfer of energy that powered the next step. Last week, they demonstrated their machines to their classmates. The machines flipped coins, popped balloons, played music on a computer, rang bells, fed a dog, placed trash into a bag, created chemical reactions, and more! Here is a video of a machine in action! Enjoy more videos of their machines on our Facebook page.
