TCS is Family

As an involved TCS dad, PE teacher and coach, Jim Vais is a familiar face here at TCS. This year, Jim has eagerly taken on the role of Director of Athletics and Student Conduct. “I can’t think of a better situation for my family to be in than at The Christ School,” says Jim. “I enjoy serving at any opportunity that God provides me.”

“My wife Tami and I have two children at TCS,” says Jim. “Jennifer is in 5th grade and James is in Kindergarten.  We are members and worship at First Presbyterian Church, where we also were married 16 years ago this October.  I moved to Orlando in 1992 after graduating from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.  I worked at Walt Disney World for 23 years before answering God’s call to The Christ School in 2015.”

Jim continues, “Our family’s roots are in Pennsylvania, so we often like to visit our families as well as cheer on our hometown teams!  Go Steelers, Go Penguins, Go Nittany Lions!  We do not have family here in Orlando, however, our Bible Study, The Christ School and FPCO have quickly become our family away from home. We are so thankful for our families!”

“Our family loves The Christ School and we feel blessed to be involved with the school.” he says. “Tami served as PTF President last year and continues to volunteer her time to support the school.  I have the blessing of driving Jennifer and James to school every day and get to start the day saying a morning prayer in the car and then we get to worship in Chapel every morning.  Jennifer and James are being fed daily in the word of our Lord and Savior. They both love their teachers and the foundation they are getting will allow them to thrive throughout their lifetime. My hope is that they will find Joy in Jesus and that will be evident in their journey at TCS and beyond.”

Jim shares his favorite Bible verse: Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
