Welcome Meredith Schott

Learning firsthand that students with dyslexia have many amazing gifts, Meredith Schott, TCS 3rd grade Bridge teacher, wanted to help a new generation of students discover that dyslexia can be a superpower. “I was diagnosed with dyslexia at a young age and was fortunate to have wonderful teachers that encouraged and supported me through elementary school. This prompted me to study education and become a teacher,” she says.  “I truly love reading and look forward to bringing a love of reading to my students.”

Meredith grew up in central Florida and now lives in Maitland with her husband Ryan, two boys, Kellen and Lucas, ages 8 and 10, and their dog, Bernie. “I went to Florida State University to study exceptional student education and have taught students in Florida for 9 years,” she says. “When not teaching, I enjoy being outdoors. I like to run, hike and bike. Because I enjoy reading so much, I am in a book club with my neighbors where we share and discuss a variety of novels.”

“I am happy to be at The Christ School,” says Meredith. “TCS is a  wonderful Christ filled community. All of the staff and parents have been very encouraging and supportive as I have adjusted to a new school. It’s a wonderful place to work.”

Meredith shares her favorite Bible verse:
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20
