Kagan Structures
TCS 7th and 8th grade Social Studies students participated in Kagan Structures to enhance their learning and classroom experiences. Kagan Structures are research-based strategies that engage ALL students in the learning process. Imbedded within the structures are social skills, team-building, and movement. The students participated in two combined structures: Find Someone Who and Hands Up-Stand Up-Pair Up. Before engaging in the structures, an “appreciation” is decided upon by the students, which must be expressed to their partners or team. For this lesson, Jack Michaels created hand motions to go along with the required “thank you very much.”
